Colorado Wedding Photography for Couples Who Keep It Real

authentic captures, prioritizing presence over perfection

You want to remember REAL moments on your wedding day, not being directed all day to get the “perfect shot.”

To me, the perfect shot is one that feels authentic; One that captures the true essence of your day – the anticipation, heartfelt glances, deep breaths before walking down the aisle, and even the ripping of one’s pants on the dance floor (nothing gets by me). I will direct you when needed, but my focus is on capturing genuine, candid moments so your wedding photography tells the story of your day. My goal is to deliver a gallery that reflects the beauty, intention, and joy woven throughout your entire celebration.

You don’t have to choose between candid photography and beautiful portraits. You can have both!

As a Colorado wedding photographer, my approach blends documentary storytelling with intentional, artistic portraits. I’ll guide you when it matters — for portraits, group photos, and moments where good light and thoughtful composition make all the difference, but I mostly like to follow alongside you and your partner, seeking out genuine moments and capturing the day as it really is – the way you’ll want to remember it.

I’ll cover everything you’d expect – formals, family photos, wedding party shots, details, and special requests, while also paying close attention to light, movement, environment, and perspective. The result is a collection of images that feels real, elevated, and timeless. My editing style is crisp and clean, using true-to-life color to so your photographs not only reflect the beauty of your wedding day, but stand the test of time and current trends, ensuring your photos won’t feel dated years down the road.

Above all, I understand that most people do not particularly enjoy or feel confident having their photo taken and clients regularly warn me…

“We’re really awkward in photos.”

I love to prove that sentiment wrong. Trust me, I GET IT. I don’t like being in front of a camera either, which is exactly why I’m so intentional about how I photograph people. I like to keep shoots light and fun, so if you don’t like being in front of a camera, know that it is my mission to make it as painless as possible – giving you more cues that foster authenticity rather than directing you into stiff poses that just aren’t you. My goal is to make the whole experience feel more like a casual hang out than an intimidating photoshoot. People almost always leave my sessions saying, “that was actually really fun!” Mission accomplished.

“Kat is the best! I booked her for my engagement shoot and wedding and couldn’t have asked for anyone better. She was great about understanding my wants with the photos, listened to my anxieties, and was so kind and personable the whole time. This was the least stressful aspect of planning!

She made us look great, guided us through poses, and made it all feel so comfortable. We had a slightly unconventional wedding day and she worked with us on budget, timelines and helped bring clarity to my day. I truly cannot recommend her enough!”
